The menu at Fish Shop celebrates sustainable produce and the changing seasons. Dishes are curated around the finest points of the year for these ingredients, from langoustines in April to turbot in September.
Alongside these, highly popular dishes rarely leave the menu – the crab crumpets and lobster tagliarini have won praise from both food critics, Grace Dent and Giles Coren.

Fish Shop sources its Scottish shellfish from Cape Wrath, Macduff, and other small fishing villages, and the menu changes daily according to the seas, the catch and the seasons. Additional seafood comes from waters around the British Isles, including line-caught fish from the South Coast.
Produce arrives at the fishmonger early each morning and is always the very best and freshest available. The restaurant also uses bycatch from its selected boats to minimise unnecessary waste or damage to the ecosystem.
Every element of Fish Shop has been thoughtfully crafted with sustainability in mind. On first entering the restaurant, one’s attention is captured by the floating shoal of 133 basket-weave fish, hand-crafted by local basketmaker Helen Jackson and suspended from the ceiling.
A salvaged fishing boat from the Ardnamurchan peninsula now serves as a beautiful table for group dining. All other tables are made from 100% chemically inert recycled plastic yoghurt pots and are also recyclable at the end of their life, while the bar-top table lamps are crafted from recycled glass in Edinburgh.
Portraits and photographs reflecting Scotland’s rich fishing history and sustainable practices are displayed throughout, alongside commissioned portraits of several well-known faces within the Aberdeenshire fishing community by artist Gideon Summerfield.
