Inspired by the royal figures who visited and loved Braemar, the opulent Royal Suites at the Fife Arms enjoy magnificent Highland views, indulgent copper baths, grand four-poster and half-tester beds, and separate sitting rooms. Additional beds are available to accommodate children upon request.
Reigning from 1837 until her death in 1901, Queen Victoria purchased the Balmoral Estate in 1852 and adored her stays in Royal Deeside. The suite captures her love of the Highlands and draws inspiration from her own room at Balmoral, including a half-tester bed, a painting by Edwin Henry Landseer, and antique mementos of the monarch.
Alexander Duff, 1st Duke of Fife, was married to Queen Victoria’s granddaughter, Princess Louise. This elegant suite reflects the Duke’s passion for outdoor pursuits and is decorated in tones of green and gold, with a life-size photograph of the couple hanging above the copper bath.
Sometimes styled ‘Her Royal Shyness’, Princess Royal Louise was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria and the eldest daughter of King Edward VII. Romantic and feminine, this suite features pink damask wallpaper and paintings of the Highland scenery the Princess loved most.
The Indian Suite explores the textures, colours, and patterns of the great subcontinent that influenced the art and design of the United Kingdom in the Victorian period. The generous bathroom is a particular highlight, where a copper bath is positioned to take in the views of the surrounding hills.
